UNCOVERED: How Garnacho turned Man Utd career around after preseason blunders

The turnaround behind the scenes for Alejandro Garnacho has been detailed, which has seen the youngster break into Manchester United’s first team in recent weeks.

Inside the past month, the teenager has made his first start for United, scored his first goal and then climbed off the bench at Old Trafford on Thursday night to turn a Carabao Cup tie against Aston Villa with two assists that clinched a 4-2 win.

Garnacho being late for two team meetings on the preseason trip to Bangkok and Australia, a misdemeanour that meant he didn’t play at all on the four-game tour, had set him back.

Following his blip, insiders say there has been a notable change in his attitude with Garnacho now among the first to training at Carrington on a regular basis, says the Daily Mail.

Garnacho’s mother, father and younger brother have joined him in England now and Garnacho had already requested a personalised gym programme from United’s fitness staff to build muscle mass. Sources say his physique has developed impressively since he arrived at the club, and the coaches are delighted with his commitment in the gym.

He also been working closely with a nutritionist outside the club to make sure his diet meets the demands required, and is nearly fluent in English after taking regular language lessons.
