Tottenham striker Richarlison says the players were keen to avoid manager Antonio Conte after his bust-up with Thomas Tuchel.
The two managers were embroiled in a heated row after Chelsea and Tottenham played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the Premier League in August. After making a point of celebrating in front of each other when their teams scored, Conte and Tuchel exchanged verbal barbs as a full-time handshake turned sour.
They were both sent off and subsequently received five-figure fines from the Football Association, while Tuchel was later handed further punishment for his comments about referee Anthony Taylor.
“That was fun, wasn’t it?” Richarlison told FourFourTwo of the incident. “At the time, we were still involved with the game, so we watched what happened between them on video in the dressing room.”
Quizzed on whether any Spurs players attempted to make light of the clash, Richarlison responded: “Are you insane? No chance, come on! Would you try any jokes? I did not.”
