Silva upset with Fulham defending for Garnacho's Man Utd winner

Fulham boss Marco Silva was unhappy with their defending for Manchester United’s winner on Sunday.

Fulham lost 2-1 in injury-time thanks to Alejendro Garnacho’s winner for United.

Silva later said, “We have to do much better in that moment. We were not in danger in that moment, we had the ball and believed we could score but we have enough balance that we can control that situation.

“We lost focus in that moment and they scored. We have to control that moment. We lost focus, we know how to control that moment.”

On the season so far, he added: “We have been doing really well. In the last three games, it has been difficult for us because we feel we deserved more from the matches – Everton and United here, and Manchester City away.

“You have to keep improving. We’re happy with how we’ve done but we have to improve. I hope we can have all the players ready when we start again on Boxing Day.

“The impact Daniel James had, if I had more options of that quality on the bench, the game would be different. We want more and I think we deserved more. Hopefully the players who were missing will be ready.”
