Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli admits they tried in the past to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
The Azzurri considered the Norway star before he left Molde for Borussia Dortmund.
Giuntoli recalled to Il Corriere dello Sport: “Haaland is a regret.
“The contract had already been signed, recognising them the payment of the clause at twenty-five million euros. But Haaland preferred Borussia Dortmund and we, who had put him and (Victor) Osimhen in our preferences, turned to Victor.
“For us, they were equal.”
