Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick admits their 2-2 draw at Aston Villa is tough to take.
United blew a 2-0 lead in the final minutes to come away from Villa Park with a point.
Rangnick said: “It is difficult to accept this result after being 2-0 up and in quite a few spells of the game, I think it was the best performance since I arrived. In the first half an hour, we completely dominated and controlled the game on the ball. Defensively, we played compact and tight.
“But again, when you are 2-0 up and throw away two valuable points, it almost feels like a defeat, but we have to look ahead and take the best out of it. in spells, it was a very good performance today.”
“We had other chances to score a second or third goal. We scored after 70 minutes, and 2-0 up with 20 minutes to play, we should be able to drive home with three points. But with the impetus and how compact we play, we have to play like that for 90, 95 minutes, not just 70 minutes”
“There are no easy games in the Premier League and there are always spells where it can go this way or that way. The same was true today. We had enough experience on the pitch to control the game and do the right things well for the rest of the game. We didn’t and we have one point instead of three.”
