Frank apologises to Brentford support; takes swipe at Southampton

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has apologised to the support after their 4-1 thrashing by Southampton last night.

The west Londoners conceded two goals in both halves to slip down underneath the Saints in the Premier League table to 13th – and record their third defeat in four matches.

Danish boss Frank was adamant that Southampton “didn’t create anything” in the match, despite going down 4-1 to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, but did admit his side were punished for a lack of concentration.

“First, thank you very much to our fans for travelling down here,” Frank told the Brentford media channel. “(It was a) full support, maximum capacity, filled out. I’m sorry we couldn’t do better.

“A big thing in a Premier League game, if we are not 100 per cent at it for every second, we’ll be in trouble or can be in trouble. And today we got punished hard.

“Southampton were a little bit more on the ball than us, but they were not as dangerous. They didn’t create anything in the open game.”
