Former Everton winger Andrei Kanchelskis is surprised by FSG’s decision to sell Liverpool.
Kanchelskis believes the Reds should be regarded as the jewel in FSG’s sporting portfolio.
He told Sport-Express: “Liverpool up for sale? Haven’t heard of this. If I had the opportunity to buy Liverpool, I would not buy it, because I played at Manchester United. I’d rather buy Everton! (Laughs).
“Look, Liverpool has history, one of the best teams in England. They compete with Manchester United for number of titles, won the Champions League, the FA Cup.
“Naturally, this is a profitable team. What’s the point of selling the goose that lays the golden eggs?
“Anything can happen with the club if there is such an offer that cannot be refused. There will probably be a buyer. This is a club with history.”
