Former Chelsea fullback Glen Johnson says the club’s summer signings will be concerned after Thomas Tuchel’s sacking.
The German was relieved of his duties as Blues head coach on Wednesday of last week, being replaced by former Brighton manager Graham Potter.
Over the summer, the Blues brought in seven new players in total. Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria all came through the door at Stamford Bridge, with the club spending near £270million on the new signings.
“It will certainly be a bit of a concern for them,” Johnson told Bettingodds.com. “However, we know how the game works and we know that it’s not just the manager that signs the players.
“The players will be concerned, but at the end of the day, there’s nothing they can do about it. They have to get on with it and hope that Graham Potter rates their style of play as much as Thomas Tuchel did.”
