England boss Southgate consdering Brentford star Toney for Nations League matches

Brentford star Ivan Toney is in Gareth Southgate’s thoughts regarding the World Cup.

The England manager is thinking about the group that he will take to Qatar this winter as the Three Lions look to go all the way in a major international competition for the first time since 1966.

According to The Guardian, Toney and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford are two of the forwards who want to make an impression on Southgate before the World Cup.

Rashford is currently injured, but Toney may get a chance to impress if he is picked for the squad for the upcoming September international matches.

England have Nations League games versus Germany and Italy, which will test Southgate’s players against high level opposition.

Toney has started the season with five goals and two assists.
