Chelsea boss Tuchel hands players day off ahead of derby against Spurs

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has handed his players a break in an effort to refresh themselves.

Thursday is the second of two days off for the squad, during which he hopes players will rest weary legs and return to work re-energised.

Tuchel himself was tetchy post-game after their draw with Brighton and that has fed down into the dressing room.

Chelsea have played 15 games since December 1 – four more than leaders Manchester City and three more than second-placed Liverpool.

Chelsea’s players will be back in training tomorrow for Sunday’s London derby at home to Tottenham.

The Blues sit 11 points clear of Spurs but Antonio Conte’s side have a whopping FIVE games in hand.
