Brighton chief Barber welcomes new technical director

Brighton chief executive and deputy chairman Paul Barber has welcomed two key off-field appointments to the club.

The Albion have secured deals for an assistant technical director and managing director for women’s football.

Mike Cave, who was an academy director at Fulham, is the new assistant technical director.

Meanwhile, Zoe Johnson takes on the role of managing director of women’s football.

Barber also praised Hope Powell, who stepped down from that role recently.

He stated in his program notes at the weekend: “Mike will report to David Weir and will assist David in overseeing our key football operations areas including recruitment, analysis, medical and player welfare, across both the men’s and women’s set-up.”
