Barcelona president Joan Laporta admits they’re unlikely to act in the January market.
Laporta says Financial Fair Play concerns are set to hold them back.
He said, “This summer we had to make some financial tools to save the club, and now we are in the process of making the finances healthy. We expect a big million profit, but despite that we can’t sign players because of the Financial Fair Play rules here in Spain.
“Together with some other La Liga clubs, however, we are trying to convince La Liga to be more flexible and allow us other interpretations of the rules, so that we can strengthen the club even more.”
