Arsenal manager Arteta claims possibility of Tottenham derby cancellation

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admits their North London derby at the weekend may be cancelled.

The Gunners are due to take on Spurs in the Premier League, with both teams vying for fourth spot in the league.

However, Arsenal could be without 10 outfield players for the match, due to injuries, suspensions, and COVID-19 positive tests.

Buakyo Saka came off in the 0-0 Carabao Cup semi final first leg draw against Liverpool on Thursday. Granit Xhaka received a red card in the game and is suspense for the Spurs clash.

Arteta told reporters: “I don’t know.

“It’s a possibility in every game, from our side, from the opponent’s side, because of the amount of issues that everybody is having and because it’s happening every week.

“But we try to prepare for games thinking we are going to play. If something happens along the way, it is what it is.”
